Guilford County School's Andy LaRowe Needs Investigating

Andy LaRowe
Chief Operations Officer
The Rhinoceros Times  (The Rhino) is to be commended on its recent series of articles on Guilford County Schools' (GCS) gross mismanagement of funds and duties, particularly by its Facilities Department headed by its former Executive Director and now the school district's Chief Operations Officer, Andy LaRowe.  However, little does The Rhino Times know it has merely hit the tip of the iceberg.

Since before GCS' fiscal year end a few weeks ago, The Rhino exposed a serious matter pertaining to alleged improprieties concerning professional services contracting by Guilford County Schools.  Particularly, The Rhino recently brought to light that $1.4 million was paid to one Dennis Cole of Construction Contract Administration, LLC (CCA) without going through proper protocol and procedure.  Cole who, while a "consultant" to GCS was responsible as a "manager of standards and design" for the purposes of managing the overall building program for GCS.

The elephant in the room - as well as in the most recent article - is Andy LaRowe.

Stevie Wonder can see that he was the key link for the series of gross improprieties taking place with Dennis Cole.  The question becomes, why isn't LaRowe being investigated, suspended or fired for his role in this mess?  And who is holding GCS, the board and its executive management accountable for allowing him to get away with it?

Andy LaRowe who has an awful management reputation both within as well as outside of GCS as someone who is grossly incompetent is being allowed to stay within GCS and piss away taxpayers dollars without any accountability.  As a taxpayer, one has to ask, why is this man being allowed to keep his job?

If GCS thinks The Rhino is doing a number on them, they haven't seen anything yet.

Stay tuned...
